Eiichiro Sakata: Enoshima
Photographer Eiichiro Sakata, well-known for his long-running Aera magazine cover portrait work, presented “Enoshima,” predominantly people-free crops of vivid Enoshima beach still life at Hara Museum of Contemporary Art. The color-rich series, shot over a course of 16 years, is a natural blend of accidental finds simultaneously referencing both, abstract and pop art motifs. A perfectly timed exhibition of the one-time Richard Avedon pupil to take the mind off the melting Tokyo mid-summer heat. Through September 29th.
