Hiroyuki Nisougi

Hello, my name is Hiroyuki Nisougi. I deeply appreciate this opportunity to speak with you about my work.

As you can see for yourself, my works are somewhat ludic, exhibiting my interest in visual elements such as line, color plane, border, boundary zone and a balance between these elements. I don’t have a method or a concept. My works simply reflect my ephemeral feelings, something essential to me at the moment, materializing in titles, letters and how my works are displayed. I use a lot of lo-fi graphic elements characteristic of Oekaki Keijiban (an online drawing BBS) imagery, but it's rather accidental. I encountered Oekaki Keijiban by chance and found its style to be compatible with mine. Although I have something to say about how Oekaki Keijiban hints at the atom-like nature of my painting and despite my personal attachment to it, I'd rather have my work speak for itself.

Let me add one more thing, I regard intuition and inspiration to be most important and want to like my own work and myself just as much as I like things surrounding me and my friends' works.
