Joseph Kosuth: The Dog House

Shibuya dog saga continues with the completion of Joseph Kosuth's Dog House, built in the memory of Bacon, a Hungarian born vegetarian Irish Wolfhound named after Francis Bacon because of their common Irish roots. Kosuth, who was deeply moved by Bacon's death, volunteered to immortalise his memory in the form of a large scale dog house covered with dog related quotations. Home of A.R.T. (Artist Residency Tokyo), ran by the notorious man about town and Bacon's owner, Johnnie Walker, The Dog House is something of Tokyo's cultural hub for those in the know.
